Why Quality Matters
Investing in a child's success early on is critical – 90% of brain development occurs before children turn five years old. A child’s experiences during their early years shape their future growth and development. Tips for Selecting a Quality Program
The Cost of Child Care
Child care cost can vary widely depending on the location, the hours needed, the age and individual needs of the child and many other factors. Please contact the child care programs you are interested in to gather more information regarding cost.
The Idaho Child Care Program (ICCP) provides child care assistance to low-income, working families by paying for a portion of child care. For more information, please visit: Idaho Child Care Assistance
Steps To Quality is Idaho's child care Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS), which measures the quality of care in center and home-based child care settings. Steps To Quality also provides child care programs with a set of tools to cultivate a high quality setting.
NAEYC Accreditation represents the mark of quality in early childhood education and child care. Accreditation is a powerful tool through which early childhood professionals, families, and interested citizens can evaluate the quality of programs, make comparisons based on professional standards, and commit to strengthening programs through ongoing evaluations and improvements.
